Ran Out of Diesel No Start Fix How To
Переглядів 2,7 тис.6 місяців тому
Older diesel engines may require some wrench-turning if you run out of fuel and try to start it again. If you don't know this, you can DAMAGE EXPENSIVE components in your high pressure fuel pump and pre-heat system by cranking for a long time with no fuel in the pump to lubricate it. It sounds technical, but it's very doable with a little know-how. I've gotchew! You've got this!

Excellent video. I just did this a few weeks ago. It's nerve racking knowing you can completely destroy it. As an engineer, I do cringe when you don't use torque specs. Mechanics tighten things by feel and that's been demonstrated time and time again to be inaccurate and in some areas (aerospace), dangerous. Also, the tightening sequence is not universally outside in. Refer to the Honda OEM shop manual for the sequence. These things have to be done properly and not by some arbitrary and subjective definition of experience. Bolts that are too loose or too tight are equally bad. There is a calculated thermodynamic elastic factor to all bolts and you want to be right on spec from the beginning.

My car (2015 VW Golf) has been running fine, but 1st plug change is supposed to be at 60K miles, and I just hit 60k. Warmed the car up fully, because some said that would make it easier. Have been working at it over two hours and can't remove ANY of the coil packs..I've pulled hard enough to stretch one of the boots to 1/2 it's diameter., and if wouldn't release. Would spraying silicone between the rubber boot and soak plug well help release it? Is the silicone going to foul the catalytic?

You do not “ruin” a halogen bulb by just touching it! Oil in your fingers would create a hot spot on the glass, yes, but you can always CLEAN it with rubbing alcohol!

AM MOST GRATEFUL BRIAN!! The horn quit working I thought it was the relay because when I applied power to the relay it didn't click very well got a new relay it work then quit working? It works then steering wheel is NOT in the straight up and down position. Can it be the clock spring? Fuse and relay are ok. So the clock spring wire circuit to the horn, has a 'bad connection' when the steering wheel is correctly straight?

I was installing a new exhaust system in my outback and did a rattle check (still have all heat shields under the car) and noticed the center bolt on trans mount floats a tad when I smack my cat section. Ended up here lol hopefully this is my gremlin for roughness at stops and like you said, granted mine is NA, can’t get on it & gotta wait until you can feel it picking up to ease back or get into it.

❤ I just watched your video from 5 yrs ago. Just so you know. Japan has not used Phillips screws since the 50's. They use what is called, "JIS" bits. It stands for Japanese industrial standard. I bought sizes #1, #2 and #3 bits. You can also buy the drivers much like screwdrivers. Now in my 60's. I raced Moto Cross when I was much younger. Never knowing the difference until just a few years ago. They don't have as sharp of an angle as a Philips driver. As a kid, we would curse the side cover screws on our bikes always stripping the heads out. Then someone came out with Allan screw replacement kits to do away with the "JIS" screws. Now you know. That's why the tool kit drivers always worked better.👍👍 Thanks for the transmission video Civic 2012.

If you had manifold in a vise with some vise grips, then heat manifold around stud until it's cherry red, somethings got to move. Just don't melt down the manifold in the process. If you do then you'll need to buy another manifold. Either way it gets fixed. If penetrant oil don't help, I doubt the crayon had anything Todo with it coming loose. It was the torch that moved that stud.
